Phase One: Identify Public Values and Priorities Associated with Mirror Pond
January through February of 2013 - COMPLETE

  • 'Mirror Pond Questionnaire' to identify common values and attitudes towards Mirror Pond
  • The Questionnaire closed February 25, 2013at 8:00pm
  • Public Meetings on February 6, 2013 and February 12, 2013
  • 6:30 to 8:30pm (both dates)
  • At Bend Park and Recreation District Offices at 799 SW Columbia Street (both dates)

Phase Two: Identify Immediate and Long Term Strategies to Address Current Conditions
March through July of 2013 - COMPLETE

  • Assess Public Responses from Questionnaire and Public Meetings
  • Create Visions of Potential Strategies
  • Identify Costs and Potential Funding Sources Associated with Each Strategy
  • Present Strengths and Weaknesses of Each Strategy and Responsiveness to Community Values
  • Assess Preferences for Each Strategy
  • Present to City Council and Park Board on July 16, 2013 at 1:30pm in Community Room at 799 SW Columbia Street.

Phase Three: Working Through the Ad Hoc Committee, Identify Preferred Strategy for Immediate and Long Term Responses to Current Conditions
August 2013 - February 2014 - COMPLETE

  • Act on Joint City Council and Park Board Resolution to Preserve Mirror Pond in it's Historic Form (if possible)
  • Create Preferred Vision/Option Based on Public Response
  • Identify Range of Cost and Potential Funding Sources and Strategies
  • Mirror Pond and Downtown Redevelopment Concept - Public outreach November 7, 2014 - January, 2015
